Amputee football tournament, Makeni

The first ever All-African Amputee Football Tournament took place in Sierra Leone in February, 2007, with Ghana coming out victorious in first place.

Many players lost their limbs as a result of atrocities during wars, gun-shot wounds or land-mines.
